When I create subs they come out with default text like “SubMachine: Easy Engaging Subtitles.”

This is often due to using the public beta versions of Premiere Pro. To resolve it you can use the current production ready versions and then open the project file in the public beta.

We’ve also seen it occur due to a lot of locked video tracks that don’t allow SubMachine to create and locate the mogrts it needs. The solution to this is generally to make sure that you have 2 free, available and adjacent video tracks.
