I get an error message saying “Unknown error while loading Motion Graphics template.”

This can be for a number of reasons but is often due to the Premiere Pro project file being nested too deep. Save as the project file to your Documents, Desktop folder or somewhere with an equally ‘shallow’ file path and try using SubMachine again. You can obviously save the project file wherever you want to but try to keep the file paths as short as possible.
